Pat Whitney Accepts Christ As His LORD And Savior

On Thursday 12/18/08 at the TBS Christmas Party Pat Whitney accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. We want to thank the brethren who prayed and encouraged this man to come to Christ. Again we thank Pastor Vince Giardino and Dave Stulpin, through scripture, showed Pat why he needed to ask Jesus Christ into his life.

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:15

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

This also is an encouragement to the brethren of TBS Fellowship. Please welcome Pat to Christ Church. Please thank the Lord for this blessing.TBS Fellowship will give Pat a new 1611 King James Holy Bible so he can

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God. A workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

I would also like to thank the people of Gospel Light Bible Baptist Church for sharing their gifts with us and supporting our men's bible study. We will continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ at GLBBC.

Special Prayer Request For Patrick

We have a special request for prayer from Annie H. for her 26 year old son who has a serious health issue. She has asked the men of TBS to pray for him, and I would ask anyone that reads this post to please join us in prayer for the healing of this young man.

James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Here is the request she sent to us:

Annie H has left a new comment on your post "Jesus Christ Birthday Party":

Hi Guys! PRAISE THE LORD!!!! I am a friend of Dave Stulpin's. I worked with him in the Sheriff's Dept (I did most of the work, of course!!!) He has asked you to pray for me and my family in the past & I am asking for more prayer for my son Patrick. He will be 26 on December 24 (My Christmas Miracle) and was born with hydrocephallus (fluid on the brain). About one and a half years ago he had his shunt replaced (it's a small device placed in his brain to take the fluid out of his head). Anyway, since that replacement he has been dealing with excruciating headaches constantly. So, finally, about a month ago we had the shunt replaced, he almost died, and they put another shunt in 12 hours after the first surgery. Well, it isn't working correctly because he continues to deal with these terrible headaches. I am taking him to a pain clinic tomorrow to see if they can give him some suggestions on how to deal with the pain and I am going for a second opinion with a new neurologist next week. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and so I'm imploring you devoted Christian men to storm the gates of heaven with your prayers to heal my son completely. Thank you and God Bless You and Merry Christmas. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!

Proverbs 3:5-8
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Don Cook's Invitation to Come To TBS

TBS Fellowship would like to invite Don Cook to join us for some good fellowship and prayer. This bible study is intended to teach Gods word while praying for each others needs. We just want you to understand that we are not anything special, were just the lame, the blind, and the lowly.

Matthew 11:5
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

We are having a birthday party for Jesus at Gospel Light Bible Baptist Church (info on the post below this one) and you and your family are invited to come. You are also invited to come on any Thursday we meet and fellowship with us.

1 John 1:3
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

If you have any questions about TBS please email me at cabet6@frontiernet.net.

Pastor George Grace Will Teach At TBS Jan. 15

Dave Stulpin ran into Pastor George Grace one day and asked him if he could come to TBS Fellowship and do a teaching. Pastor Grace knew Curt Lewis for many years and many of the brethren that have attended his bible study over the years, he told Dave he would. On January 15, 2009, Pastor George Grace will teach at TBS Fellowship. We are bless to have him come and fellowship with us and hope that all will attend for some good teaching and fellowship. Come learn about the Lord Jesus.

Matthew 11:29
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

THE GREATEST VICTORY!

Good morning after the Tues Night Election, here are some key scriptures to focus on especially after an election:

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Psalm 125 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Prov.16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

Prov.29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Isaiah 57:13 When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

Psalm 146:3-7 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. 5Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: 6Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: 7Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Acts 5 34-39 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Keep praying, Be an example now more than ever! Fight the good fight! Always and again I say always! Remember the CROSS, everyone who witnessed the crucifixion thought it was a defeat! Indeed it was the GREATEST VICTORY! In all of history. May the GOD of our LORD CHRIST Jesus be with you always!

New TBS T- Shirts!

New T-shirts have been ordered for the bible study and they came in. They are black with red lettering in the upper pocket corner that say TBS Fellowship (no writing on the back). We have L and XL and they are $6 each. If you would like to order one please contact Steve DiFiore.
They seem only to be T-shirts for the world but this is a statement of fellowship. Race teams, football, and even soldiers wear the same clothing to show how they are unified or of one command. We are unified in Christ and are not ashamed to let the world know that. I am not ashamed of the brethren I pray with.

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Remember the ushers in the theaters that use to walk you to your seat in the dark with a flashlight. They wore a uniform so you could trust them to find you a seat. Just think how you may be the one person that helps someone in the direction of Jesus Christ while they are still in the dark. You will be easier to find in that T-shirt.

Jeffrey Needs Your Prayer

We have a prayer request from Margaret Sullivan in Owego, NY for Jeffrey Talbot. He is 10 years old and has a very rare form of cancer. The tumors in his chest are close to his heart and has blood clots in his legs. He will be having heart surgery in Boston soon. He is currently in intensive care and on morphine. Jeffrey's mother's name is Kim and needs a lot of prayer also. Please pray for this family.

Mathew 21:21-22: Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
2 Corinthians 1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

A Tough Daily Obedience

In years past, before the convenience of modern electric machines, the tedious work was done by hand. A person’s day started when the sun rose and it ended not long after the sun set. People where occupied with the daily chores of getting three meals on the table, clean clothes on their backs, and farm their land or work a job to pay their bills. There wasn’t as much leisure time. Today, we multitask throughout the day. We go to work, come home, wash clothes, heat up diner, and even vacuum the carpet, simultaneously. With these modern machine marvels we find that we can free up hours of leisure time. Its one thing to have a machine, save you time and energy, but another to have one waste the time you saved. I remember my grandparents watching radio. That’s right watching radio with the yellow lighted numbers and the reflection of light from glass tubes from the back of the radio on the wall. It started out well giving us news from around the world, but it also took away something valuable, time.

Psalms 90:10
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

The television brought sight as well as sound and it gave us eye witness accounts of thing that happen around the world, we could now see it for ourselves. It has also brought into our homes things we ought not to see, the killing of men, scantly dressed woman, sins of the imagination. It’s so easy to watch. Some would say, “If it’s not appropriate, change the channel”. But it’s so easy to take another peak of things that should not be seen. Again we lost something valuable, self control.

Job 31:1
I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

Psalm 101:3l
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

What is even more distressing is that we have placed this thing in our homes in our children reach. It has desensitized us and our children to what is right and what is wrong. The information is not accurate and opposing to our God. Once again we are losing something valuable, our children.

Proverb 1:1-7
My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

There are no bounds for men; we have gone into the oceans and outer space. We have build things very small and very large. We now even talk to the dead! There are people, trying to contact the dead as we watch. Some may say, “Will you stop! Its just entertainment!” Is it? What does God say about such matters

Leviticus 19:31
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 18:9-12
When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Isaiah 8:19
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

Can we continue watch and listen to these things and tell ourselves that it won’t affect (maybe infect?) me or my family.

Romans 1:28-32
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same,
but have pleasure in them that do them
.

We need to separate ourselves from the world and be Gods particular people. This may not be easy to do. Television is has a luring appeal, the lights, the flashes, and shining things. It’s a tough daily obedience to stay away from this thing, but prayer is essential in all matters. God will help us with all our burdens. Amen

Bible Study: Mark 8: 22-26

There is an account of a blind man cured by Jesus and is written in the Book of Mark. We see in most accounts of Christ, it is written in more then one gospel. We know not all of Jesus miracles were recorded. The ones that were selected are to help convey the message the Lord put on the Gospel writers mind. Each Gospel writer had a different perspective, so when you read about a miracle in one gospel it may be describe differently in another according to that Gospel writers prospective. It’s interesting that this miracle was only accounted in the Gospel of Mark.

Mark 8: 22-26
22
And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.

23And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.

24And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.

25After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

26And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

After reading this passage I wanted to find out why it took Jesus 2 times to get this man to see correctly. It’s hard to believe the creator of the stars and planets and all life could not get it done on the first try. Here at TBS we have a banner that has a verse on it:

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

22And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.

So the blind man did not come on his own, friends brought him there. It doesn’t say that the blind man asked his friends to bring or lead him there. In fact, this blind man may have even been talked into going not really thinking it will help. But his friends did have faith that Jesus Christ could cure his blindness. We also know this man wasn't from Bethsaida:
26And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

Mark 8:23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town;

So Jesus comes to Bethsaida and the blind man is lead to him by his friends to Bethsaida. Now Jesus takes him by the hand and leads him out of town. Why?
Because the town is know for its unbelief.

Mathew 11:20-24
20Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

21Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

22But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

23And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

24But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

It can also be found in Luke 10:13.

Mark 8:23-24 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.

This man was not blind at birth. How would he know what a tree looked like? And why is he not completely cured at this point.

The problem wasn't that Jesus couldn't cure him, it was because of the blind mans disbelief! He had no faith that Christ could heal him.He didn’t really believe, but when his eyes started to see things his faith grew.

25After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

He saw every man clearly, 20/20 vision, God is not going to give his own second best.

In Mathew we see how people were cured the first time because of their faith.

Mathew 9:28-29 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

Now these guys were healed on the very first try because they did believe.

Mathew 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

I believe this scripture gives us another view how God works. How he changes our lives in stages, and it's based by our faith in him. I like the By Faiths:

Hebrews 11:7-33
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed;

By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down

By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not

And though this man had little faith, Jesus gave him some sight and his faith increase. What is our faith?

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Mark 8:26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

This town had heard the word, seen Gods works and rejected it. They didn’t believe and did not have faith in Christ.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

What happens when you reject the word of God?

Mark 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

And the little faith that the people of that town may have had, will be taken away.

Luke 19:26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

Lord, we pray now to you, to the author of our faith, to help us diligently seek you, we pray for wisdom and understanding of your word and to increase our faith in all matters concerning you. Amen.

Curtis Lewis Goes Home To The Lord

Curtis Lewis a faithful servant has been called home. We feel sad that he has left our presence, but we rejoice that he is now in the presence of Jesus Christ! We loved Curt very much and he will be sorely missed. But we must continue on with the work of the Lord so others can have the joy of being in Christ's presence.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Below is a message from the his family.

Baptism Picnic At Hamlin Beach State Park

We know these the pictures from the Baptism Picnic At Hamlin Beach State Park are on the late side but with all the stuff (archaic word in the KJV) going on with Curt, it has taken some extra time. No one was baptized but we had a good time with our families. We hope that you enjoy the movie of this event. If anyone would like to do a bible study on why we should be baptized please contact Dave Stulpin to set up that study.

Mark 1: 4-5 4John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. 5And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

Deputies Honor A Pal

We wanted to post the article head lined in the Democrat & Chronicle on Wed. 7/9/08 : Deputies Honor A Pal. The article speaks for itself. I would like to commend the D&C and RNews for doing a wonderful job in reporting this event. The help of police officers from not only the Sheriff's Department but from Gates and Ogden Police Departments. We thank them for their time and work they put into making this possible. We would like to thank everyone who attended for their support to honor Curt. The Lord called and Curt listened and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

2 Timothy 4: 1-5 1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

AMEN

Curtis Lewis Special Deputy

Tuesday at 12:00 pm Curtis Lewis becomes a Special Deputy in the Monroe County Sheriff Department. His work with the youth throughout the years teaching the ways of the Lord through Gods word, has inspired many to become Sheriffs in Monroe County. As Curt has told many when he was asked what his relationship was to these Sheriffs, "I'm their mentor, the guy that kept them on the right side of the bars".

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Timothy 2:2 And the things that you have heard from me among many
witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

We know from Curt's stories of the past, he always wanted to be a Sheriff, but the Lord lead him on another path. The path that he was led on was in the construction industry where Godly comments are not usually heard. For many of these men, Curt was the only Christian that ever witnessed to them. It is amazing that God led Curt in another direction but kept him involved with law enforcement.
With his gift of hospitality TBS Bible Study started 25 years ago and was a blessing from the Lord. With the invitation for all to come to fellowship, all sorts of people came. Curt would say the lame, the blind, and the lowly. Were not just regular people.

Luke 14:13
But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.

Then calls in the middle of the night asking Curt for help after being arrested and Curt calling on his brethren Sheriff's for advise and help. This was Curt, always on call and his home always open. Curt, you sir, have been a blessing not only for TBS brothers and their families but to the entire community. We thank you and love you.

We would like to thank Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn for honoring a man who has encouraged Christian men to join law enforcement.

Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn will be issuing a Sheriffs Badge to Curtis Lewis at 12:00 pm (noon) on July 8, 2008 at 2510 Manitou Road, Gates, NY 14624.

Please join us for this happy and special occasion. Parking is at Lugias parking lot.

Psalms 146:5
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
Amen.

The Passing of Ken (Skip) Richarson's Wife Beverly

We at TBS would like to give our condolences to Ken on the passing of his wife Beverly. When a wife or child is lost we grieve for them. This loss will be life changing. We read in Job how he lost his children:

Job 18-19: 18While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: 19And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

He grieved but did not blame God.

Job 22:22In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

This man didn't have the New Testament to read. He believed that God was his maker and was in control. Its ok to grieve, but we remember the promises of God: We will be reunited with our saved loved ones.

Luke 42-43: 42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

We need to stay in the word to give us the strength and power to continue to do Gods will while we still walk in this place. Again we pray for our Brother in Christ.

Salvation Army Tour

Recently Curt Lewis and Ernie Giardino went to visit Captain Darrell Calhoun at the Salvation Army Facility at Liberty Pole Way in Rochester, NY. This facility consists of a church, office areas, a cafeteria, down stairs breakfast/meeting room, and 35 living quarters. We found that the Salvation Army has the capacity to feed many people every day. This is a remarkable task considering the fact that budgets are cut when the money doesn’t come in. With the price of fuel going up and the budget going down it becomes difficult to maintain even last year levels of service. The facility is a very clean environment where people of the street can come for some basic human needs. But the most important work of the Salvation Army is the spiritual needs of the people that come here.

John 21: 17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

They have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ, and what he did for them. They are shown with scripture how Christ died on the cross to cover our sins. They are asked to come back to learn more about our Savoir and get more than their basic needs met.

John3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The Salvation Army will find out the education level of these people and may help them further their education. They help them get a GED or a driver’s license. They will help them find jobs as well as ask them to help in serving the needs of others. Darrell stated he is looking for volunteers, good men not afraid to speak up, help out and keep the facility safe.

1 John 17: 17-19 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

When we went in the church, we found old hymn books and King James Version Bibles.

Mattew 26:29-30 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

The level of detail and dedication of the people here is a memorial to the Lord. As for Curt and me, we found it to be a blessing to have an opportunity to spend time here today. If you would like to give some of your time to a good ministry please contact Captain Darrell Calhoun: email comroc@aol.com, phone: 585-202-5590.

Matthew25: 33-36 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Prayer Request For Curt Lewis

I am asking all you folks who know our Lord and Savior for a prayer request. Our Lord says, prayer without ceasing; ask, seek, and knock.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Matthew 7:8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Our Lord is still in the business of healing the sick, AMEN! Brothers and sisters I am asking for a 24 hour prayer request for HEALING in Curt. He is a man that we still need here to do much of God’s work. Curt loves the Lord with his whole heart and soul.

When I first met Curt he was a tough guy who did not like women, and did not go to church. Most conversations were dated 20 or more years back and I really didn't have the patience to listen to most of his conversations unless they were Bible related. I prayed for changes in Curt. The Lord did answer my prayers. I told Curt that there was no place in my Bible that said he was exempt from going to church, 2 weeks later he was in church. We had many conversations at his home, and sometimes he even yelled at me. Well, as time went on he learned to like women a little better (he accepted me and a little different than the rest) and his conversations were about the future. In the time I spend with Curt I see a beautiful person that causes you to love him mo matter what. Yep, he got me too!

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

So let’s not give up on him, pray for him daily as my husband and myself do. ASK FOR THE HEALING IN JESUS NAME AMEN! We all love you Curt!

Remember, Don't Be Silent

Remember that April 30 is the "Day of Silence" so make some noise and preach the Word of God, Amen. Lets pray for the homosexuals to repent and come to salvation.

Luke 5:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one
sinner that repenteth.

Remind your children that all of us are sinners.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.

But God has open our eyes and removed the scales from them so we can see our sin.

Acts9:17-18
17And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. 18And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

The people that promote these things are under delusion that what they do is right.
These events typically are organized by a school's "Gay-Straight Alliance" group, but the event has been promoted throughout its existence by the special interest group, the massively funded Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). This homosexual club will be distributing pamphlets, stickers, and other materials.

Proverbs 10:32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

The definition of frowardness from the Webster's American Dictionary of the English Language, 1828: Perverseness; reluctance to yield or comply; disobedience; peevishness. These things they say and testify to are not the ways of the Lord Jesus Christ. So again pray for these people, they need our prayers.

1 Thessalonians 5:14-18 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Date Comments For The Baptisim At Hamlin Beach

I have not received any comments about the date to set for the the Baptist at Hamlin Beach State Park. I guess we will choose a date and we will try to get a consensuses for it. The date selected is June 8, 2008, at 1:30pm till it ends. Please check your calenders and we will bring it up at the Bible Study on Thursday. We also need know who has not been baptized and would like to be this day.

Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

We believe this is an opportunity to publicly profess your faith. We also believe this will give us opportunities to witness Gods great plan to others who do not know. Please pray about this.
We are also planning this to be a family day. So any ideas on what to bring food wise and any of the other stuff.
(Note: stuff: An archaic word used in the KJV, Gen 31:37 Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.)

Welcome To TBS Joe Dority, Vinny Modaffari, and Vince Campola

We would like to welcome Joe Dority, Vinny Modaffari, and Vince Campola to TBS Fellowship! When you decide to press close to the Lord, he will bless your effort, he is always faithful.

1Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

We thank you for attending and pray that you will continue to fellowship with us. Do to the frailty of our bodies, we found ourselves putting Brother Curt in an ambulance and transported him to a hospital. Though it was disturbing to know that one of our brethren was very sick, it was a blessing to have us all together at his home where we could pray for him. The Lord used that moment in time for his glory. We thank the Lord for answered pray. Again we thank you men for joining us in prayer.

Curt Lewis Returns Home From Hospital

I want to let everyone know that Curt returned home latter Thursday night from the hospital. We needed a reminder of how fragile life is and how cancer eats away at a life a little at a time. We all know people around us with this disease and they need our prayers. We thank the Lord for more time with Curt. Amen

TBS at Gospel Light Mens Prayer Breakfast March 29, 2008

It was a blessing to see over 70 men praying with Pastors and men of other churches and organizations. They came to fellowship together and worship our Lord Jesus Christ. TBS had 8 men come to this event and enjoy a wonderful meal and good preaching!

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Pastor Vince Messa from Standford, Connecticut preached a powerful message on "As the man is so is his strength". His points of submission, humility, supplication, and sacrifice and how it applies to Christians was a reminder of where our hearts should be. Two men of twelve that came with Pastor Darrell Calhoun from the Salvation Army, Brian Pollard and Tony Schimpff, asked Christ to come into their hearts. We want to welcome them and pray that they will continue to walk with the Lord. Below is a video of the blessed event, enjoy, God Bless.

Baptisim At Hamlin Beach

TBS has been blessed by God to have an increase in attendance to our bible study. We ended up filling the living room and kitchen area on study nights. We then made the decision to move into the garage so we could all fit and see each other during the study. As more attend we are finding that some have not been baptized. A public declaration in believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Acts 8:35 35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

We believe that it would be a blessing to have a baptizing in the waters of Lake Ontario in June at Hamlin Beach State Park. It would also include a pinic with family members and friends attending the festivities. We believe it will also make a time for witnessing for the Lord to people he places in that area that day. We need to pick a date so begin to think about it. If you have any comments or ideas please let us know and please pray about this, we want the Lord to direct this thing.

Welcome To TBS Pastor Darrell Calhoun

We would like to welcome Pastor Darrell Calhoun from the Salvation Army to the Thursday Night Bible Study! Your presence is a blessing and we pray that we have opportunity to worship and pray with you to Jesus Christ often. We believe that prayer is powerful and the Lord hears.

Revelation 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the
prayer of the upright is his delight.

We thank the Lord for you joining us and we pray for your return for more fellowship. Amen

Brother Arnone Sharing Thoughts

In a world of pain surrounded by greed,
Heavenly Father this is my plead,
that all mens pride and selfish desire
would be laid aside so that you could inspire
the hearts and the minds once ruled by our sin
can now be transformed by Christ power within.
The key to this power is a blood tainted cross
that through Jesus sacrifice his life it did cost.
Surrendered not taken he laid his life down
that all who were lost now can be found.
Believe in your heart that Christ is the SON
raised from the dead he and his father are one.
Left for us his spirit the same is as he
a magnificent gift Gods own trinity.
So choose ye this day the path you will take
remember the cost for eternity's sake!

Welcome To TBS Morgan

We would like to welcome Morgan to the Thursday Night Bible Study! We pray that you will come and grow with us. We use Gods word to learn about our God and about ourselves.

Proverbs 15:22
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

We thank the Lord for you joining us last week and pray for your return for more fellowship. Amen

Welcome To TBS Milton Simmons

We would like to welcome Milton Simmons to the Thursday Night Bible Study! We pray that the Lord will bless you in your effort to get closer to him. We believe that the Holy Spirit works in our lives and that he is a gift of God.

Mark 4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the

New Blog for Gospel Light Bible Baptist Church

Gospel Light BBC has just enabled their new Blog. We have a link to their web site and there will be a link to their blog. Below is the link so you can put it in your favorite places now so you can go directly to it. When you get done praying on our prayer list you now have access to another prayer list. Please check it out. http://gospellightbbc.blogspot.com/
I think we should all remember that this is a participation blog site. If you go to a Christian activity that may be of interest to the study, please let us know and we will put the information and any photos you have on this blog to share with the brethren. If you have some writings or poems you would like to share, please call or email them and we will post them. There are people in other areas in New York State that read this blog. We have people in other states such as Florida and South Carolina that look at this site. We need to keep this site with fresh information, up to date prayer lists, and good Christian testimonies.

II Timothy 4:3-4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Lets get the message out while we can. God Bless our King, Jesus Christ. Amen

The War of Good and Evil

Pastor Marlowe Washington of A.M.E. Church on Meigs Street called the youths who attended the funeral for slain teen Brent Coley, for an end to such violence and urged those in attendance to accept Jesus into there lives. 24 youths dedicated there lives to Jesus Christ. This article in the D&C Local Section was very powerful. This is real news! Washington stated "Its a war of good and evil".

Genesis 4:88 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Bishop Willie Davis spoke and stated he has presided over funerals for a quarter of the homicides committed in a year. Using 50 homicides per year he is presiding over 13 homicide funerals. This man needs our prayers! He also states that they need to turn back to God. Now he is talking to the black people in the Rochester community, but these words are meant for us all. We need to pray for these people, God can turn this around if we ask him for help.

1 Thessalonians 5:15-5:18
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Rochester is where we live and worship Jesus Christ, let us pray for this community. A copy of the article is posted just double click on it to enlarge it.

TBS Tee Shirts

For the last few weeks we have talked about getting some tee shirts that have the TBS name, statement of faith, and a cross on them. We had a sample that most of us should have seen. The feed back has been positive and some would like to purchase them. Some changes that were suggested were to put the cross and statement on the back of the shirt with a small cross on the front left side. Some colors suggested were burgundy and black. As more information comes available, we will post it. The price will be around $15.00 but that needs to be confirmed. If you decide to order a shirt please give to Curt the size and color you want along with the money. You are not obligated to buy one. Further information will be posted on this post. Thank you and God Bless your day!

Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

New TBS Fellowship Business Cards

We have just been blessed. GraceAnn Stulpin (Dave's wife) liked the business card idea but soon realized that the card stock used for the cards would not last long if someone carried it around in their wallet or pocket. It was put on her heart that the Lord should have nothing but the best, so she spruced up the look of the cards and added a background pictures to them and had them put on better card stock. In fact, she has ordered 2 different styles of cards. She expects the new cards will be available by Thursday 2/21/08.
We thank GraceAnn for the wonderful gift and the thoughts she has for our bible study.

Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Welcome Lester Cook and Paul Vindigni to the Bible Study

TBS Fellowship would like to welcome Lester Cook and Paul Vindigni to the bible study. Your presence is a blessing and we pray that we have opportunity to worship Jesus with you often.

Proverbs 1:5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

We also thank Doug Turner for the pizza he brought to the study. We see from the bible that food and meals are included many times when Jesus was teaching or preaching. So stay in the word and keep bringing snacks.

1 Titus 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be there with content.

I hope everyone like the the arrangement of the seating, we want everyone to see the speaker when we have a full house. If you have any ideas for the future when more people come, please let us know. In fact you can post your comments to each of the posts on this blog anytime.

Needed Prayer For Phillip Harden

Brother Arnone and Giardino went to Victory Baptist Church for their Wed. night bible service. At the service it was brought to the attention of the church that a woman from Tennessee, Peggy Harden, was there praying for her son Phillip Harden. Phillip, an electrician whose work brought him to Rochester, NY was working in a bucket truck on high voltage services, was electrocuted with 19,000 volts of power. He was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital where his right hand was burned off and his left hand severely burned. The power went through his body and he is now in a coma. His body has been damaged to the point that he may not survive. This man was not saved, and his Moms prayer was not only for recovery, but for an opportunity for him to awaken for a time to accept Jesus into his life before his passing. We prayed as a church before the service, and I ask that you pray for this man and his family during their time of trouble. Amen
